Welcome to the project and thanks for backing! We had an exciting first day and are on our way! It will be important to keep getting the word out, so please keep sharing on socials so we can fund this bad boy and get to those stretch goals.

Combo Spotlight

Each update I'll be spotlighting a combination of cards that synergize well in Mutanite! Today begins with a simple combo of Gas Breath and Voodoo:

Gas Breath on its own is a solid power: a ranged attack that deals 2 damage and poisons your opponent. Poison is a card that deals 1 damage when given, and 1 damage each time the opponent draws it. Voodoo is a trait that DOUBLES this poison damage. Traits are obtained by spending Mutanite (your character is mutating!).

Early game, it's often better to spend Mutanite on traits rather than Boost abilities on powers. This is because traits keep giving you benefits every turn, whereas Boosting is single-use. In the ideal play here, an early game Voodoo syncs up a few times with Gas Breath to double that single poison damage each time it's played. Then, in the late game when acquiring new traits won't pay off anymore and your Mutanite is saved up, you can spend it on the big THREE POISON Boost with Gas Breath. When combo'd with Voodoo, this deals your opponent 6 damage, but poison likely triggers at least an additional time from their deck recycling, so this could net 12 or more damage. That's almost 25% of their 50 health life total, and it only took 1 of the 4 cards from your hand that turn! Oh sweet, sweet poison.

To get a head start on this combo, begin the game with Adria - she's able to choose Voodoo as one of her starting traits.
