THANK YOU!

We did it!! Because you all believed in Mutanite, it will live to see the light of day and we'll all be able to experience the EPICNESS in person! The timing of its delivery later in the year will be wonderful, too—after Covid has waned, we can start to spend quality time with each other again, smashing each other to bits! In the meantime, if you haven't played, I encourage you to try it on Tabletop Simulator until you get your copy!

Quick Thoughts

What a rollercoaster of a campaign. On Day 1 we did great. Day 2 was the US Capitol news which I think took a toll on our battle game, and for the next few days I was convinced we weren't going to recover. Then we kind of did! ...and then it slowed down big time. After you all expressed your feedback and we incorporated some great additions into the game, we started to gain traction again. Some key press also helped to keep bringing new eyes to the game. In the end, WE FUNDED! And that's what matters in the annals of history.

...that, and rocking out to the Mutanite theme song:

This unbridled enthusiasm from Dennis of BrettspielSuchties captures the spirit of the game perfectly! It's all about jumping in, picking up some sweet powers and traits, and driving ice cream trucks into your friends to make them frosty. The gameplay FEELS frictionlessly visceral and that's why I love that video.

What's Next?

This campaign was a ride and I am quite out of energy! So I'm going to take a break, re-energize, and mutate into post-campaign Andy that has special traits for developing 1-6 player competitive and cooperative modes. I'll make sure to keep you all updated with the goings on, and hopefully eventually put some rulesets out so you can try the new additions for yourselves. I've already started working with BackerKit on surveys, as well as talking to Matt at PandaGM about getting an updated quote after Chinese New Year.

Thank you all again. I can't wait to get this game made and into your hands!

Sincerely,

Andy

Prepping for End of Campaign, 91% Funded!
about 3 years ago – Tue, Jan 26, 2021 at 01:11:43 PM

The Final Push

A continued thank you and welcome to our new backers!

We are at 91% funded and it's going to be very close to see if we reach the full funding amount by Thursday night! I'm in the process of preparing the following:

  • Knapsack Games Newsletter to inform folks the campaign is ending
  • BackerKit Launch email to backers of past campaigns
  • Reaching out to reviewers to post the game again
  • Final social media messaging

With all that being said, it will be important we all push together to spread the word in the final 2-3 days (i.e. Tuesday through Thursday night). I've said this before, but every social post, like and comment on anything Mutanite will be key! Anywhere you can think to post that the game is ending soon and close to funding is helpful to getting this across the finish line!

I started designing Masters of Mutanite over 6 years ago. It didn't come to Kickstarter sooner because, at every step, I knew it could be better. So, I didn't stop, and kept redesigning and developing. The design you see today is a game I'm proud of because it is exciting and thematic every time you play. I only ask you to share the game because I really believe it's good, and I don't feel boastful saying that because it took a village to get the game to be this polished (look at all our awesome contributors!). Now, we just need a few more backers to get the game actually made and onto tables. Thank you for believing in Mutanite, and I really hope we can make this happen!

I leave you with a few pictures showing the development of the game over the years. These are just snapshots, and there's a lot of blood, sweat, tears, conventions and details hidden between the lines, but here they are:

Let's do this.

Additional Gameplay Added, Dice Tower Featuring, 85% Funded!

Getting Closer!

Thank you and welcome to our new backers! Great to have many of you from The Dice Tower Crowdsurfing segment. We're at 85% funded, and getting to the finish line is feeling more and more within our reach!

Additional Gameplay

As hinted at in the last couple updates from my playtests, I feel confident I'll be able to successfully integrate 5-6 players, Co-op Mode and Solo Play after the campaign, so I've gone ahead and officialized them! Here they are in the new imagery on the page so new folks visiting are aware:

The Dice Tower Crowdsurfing

As mentioned, we had some nice featuring on Crowdsurfing for the second time, this time Zee's Pick of the Week (previously Mark's Pick of the Week). This has been huge for helping us get closer before the final few days. Watch here:

Have a great weekend and let's finish strong this coming week!

Thanks,

Andy
